Data Centers
pocketcomputer.net

The Internet provides a very convenient way to communicate around the world and now you can download information or e-mail right from your secluded spot on the beach. Data Centers allow users to analyze large quantities of data to make appropriate decisions. Corporations are already allowing employess to work remotely and having a computer and software infrastructure that supports remote/pocket computing with their data centers will allow firms to respond quickly to market pressures.

The PocketComputer.Net (PCN) is implemented as a SQL-based data model built on the Microsoft SQL Server 2000 RDBMS and Windows 2000. Business logic is implemented largely as SQL/XML and COM+ for maximum efficiency. ASP code connects the PCN data model and business logic to the web, through IIS 5.0. A PCN port to ASP+ and C# is planned, as are SOAP Envelops to facilitate integration with other application servers. This architecture is highly scalable, and is capable of supporting up to 6,000 user sessions per day.
